If you’re building a pneumatic system for an automated assembly line. The air compressor measures airflow in CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute), but the control valves need it in in³/s (Cubic Inches per Second). For smooth work, you need to convert between these two measurements.
How you do that manually? see following guide:
How to Convert CFM To in³/s
Remember that, 1 cubic foot contains 1,728 cubic inches, and there are 60 seconds in a minute, the conversion formula is:
in³/s = CFM × 28.8001
CFM = in³/s ÷ 28.8001
Your air compressor operates at 5 CFM. Using the formula:
5 × 28.8001 = 144.0005
This means your air compressor delivers 144 cubic inches of air per second.
Result: Your control valve needs 150 in³/s of airflow for proper working. But your compressor only provides 144 in³/s, which is a little less than requirements. To keep the system running at its best, you might need a more powerful compressor.
CFM Cfmcalculator.net Convert 10000 CFM to m³/h Calculation Steps: 1. Enter a value in the CFM or m³/h field. 2. Multiply the CFM value by 1.69901 to calculate m³/h. 3. Divide the m³/h value by 1.69901 to calculate CFM. 4. The default value is set to 10000 CFM for convenience. CFM m³/h 1 1.69901 100…
